Lambeth, President of Downtown Resources, specializes in working with property owners, business owners and cities on urban revitalization projects. Mr. Lambeth, a California special districts attorney, was the primary author of California’s “Property and Business Improvement District Law of 1994,” and drafted several amendments to California’s PBID law including 2004 amendments allowing businesses to be assessed under the PBID law and allow PBIDs to issue bonds. He has assisted with the formation and renewal of dozens of business improvement districts and provides ongoing advice to districts throughout the state. He has successfully implemented districts in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento, as well as in Hawaii. John recieved his J.D. with distinction from McGeorge School of Law and recieved his B.A. from Claremont McKenna college. Brad Segal is president of Progressive Urban Management Associates (P.U.M.A.), a Denver-based consulting firm providing management, marketing and economic development services to advance downtown and community development. The firm has served more than 150 clients in 28 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Jamaica. In California, P.U.M.A. has assisted more than 20 communities form or renew property-based business improvement districts. Prior to establishing P.U.M.A., Brad served as the senior director of the Downtown Denver Partnership where he managed its economic development and marketing programs. A native of Denver, Brad holds an MBA degree from Columbia University in New York and a BA from the University of California at Berkeley. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Colorado Community Revitalization Association and is a past board member of the International Downtown Association. He is the author of many articles and publications, including ABCs for Creating BIDs and Ten Keys for Creating a Competitive Downtown. |
